Pleasant Words Are Persuasive

In review of Proverbs 16:21 it tells me that “A wise, mature person is known for his understanding. The more pleasant his words, the more persuasive he is” (GNT).

Proverbs 16:21
The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive.

Pleasant speech and gracious words have a much better influence than careless or hurtful ones.

Gentleness is persuasive. The hard sell or directness is not as palatable.. We no longer respond to someone yelling or barking commands at us.

This is the mark of maturity. Wise, mature people are pleasant. Fools are rude. I’ll never be persuasive when I’m abrasive.

In summary, a wise person is known for their understanding. Pleasant and gracious words are better influences than careless or hurtful ones.  We don't usually buy because of a hard sell, rather we buy or respond because someone recommended it. Wise and mature people are pleasant, it's a sign of maturity. Fools are rude. I'll never be persuasive when I'm abrasive.

This morning Father I pray that my attitude and words are pleasant and not abrasive. I ask for your wisdom and guidance for my day, my leadership and my interactions. I ask this through your Son Jesus name, amen.
