Choosing to Accept God’s Grace

In Romans 6:23 it says, The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” (NLT)

The Bible says in Romans 6:23, “The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord” (NLT). Grace is the gift that keeps on giving. When I get to know Jesus Christ and his grace and love, it gets better and better and better. It is available and extended throughout eternity. The best is yet to come!

In heaven, I’m going to be reunited with loved ones who know the Lord. I’m going to be rewarded for my faith. I’m going to be assigned a position of work that I love to do. I’m going to be released from pain, depression, despair, shame, and guilt, and I’m going to rejoice and party for eternity. What a deal!

There is a catch: I have to accept it.

Imagine going home today and finding a gift on your table, but leaving it there for the next year, unopened. That would be ridiculous! A gift is worthless unless you accept it. I must accept God’s grace through his Son, Jesus Christ.

Maybe you have held off because you’re afraid of being rejected. Maybe you were rejected by your parents. Maybe you were rejected by a boyfriend or a girlfriend, and that hurt deeply. Or maybe you were rejected by a brother or sister or by classmates. Maybe you have been rejected by a former spouse who walked out on you and said hurtful things that you still think of today.

But there is one person who will never reject me, and his name is Jesus Christ. He’s saying to me, “Come home.” Have you been secretly overwhelmed by that shame in your life? You can get rid of it today. The more I understand the grace of God, the more I’ll fall in love with God and the more I’ll want to draw closer to Jesus. It’s almost impossible to not love somebody who loves me that much.

In summary, the wage for sin is death, but a free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus my Lord who takes my penalty and provides to me grace. And grace is the gift that keeps on giving. When I get to know Jesus Christ and his grace and love, it gets better and better and better. It is available now and extended throughout eternity. In eternity (heaven), I’m going to be reunited with loved ones who also know and accept the Lord. I’ll be rewarded for my faith. I’ll be assigned a position of work that I love to do. I’ll be released from pain, depression, despair, shame, and guilt, and I’m going to rejoice and party for eternity. There is a catch, I have to accept it. A gift is worthless unless you accept it. I must accept God’s grace through his Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is one person who will never reject me. He’s saying, “Come home to him.” The more I understand the grace of God, the more I’ll fall in love with God and the more I’ll want to draw closer to Jesus. It’s almost impossible to not love somebody who loves me that much.

Thank you Father for the Grace and restoration you offer to me as a gift when I make Jesus Christ the Lord of my life. I also look forward to the position of work that I’ll love to do for eternity. Today, I trust you to provide a future position that I’ll love doing in the meantime. I ask you for wisdom and guidance for my day, my work, my leadership and my interactions with others. These things I pray in your Son Jesus’ name, amen.
