God Blesses You When You Give Your Best

In summary of Colossians 3:22 it says, “Slaves/Servants, obey your earthly leaders (masters) in everything you do.  Try to please them all the time, not just when they are watching you.  Honor the Lord and serve your masters with your whole heart.”

Bottom Line:
Your are to obey your leaders in everything you do and don’t just do the minimum that will get you by. Do your best even when they aren’t looking.  Honor the Lord and serve with your whole heart.  Do this as a sincere expression of your devotion to Him.

What this means to me:
I am to obey my leaders here on earth.  This is for everything I do.  It should be my goal to please them all the time and not just when they are looking at me or watching what I do.  My service should be whole hearted and in reverence to the Lord.  I should do this out of a sincere expression of devotion to Him.  All leaders (good and bad) are put in place by God.  They are here to bless, punish or teach us.  I am to follow unless they are leading me to do unethical things.  God will bless me if I’m exceeding what is normally expected of me, this is why I have adopted the ethic to do more than is expected.  So today I will consider if I am truly living what I believe.  Am I exceeding the expectations of my leadership/client above me?  Am I taking pride in work well done?  I need to remember that as a christian I represent Christ and as such I want to reflect his true character that lives within me.
