There are times when physical and mental things happen that bring me down. However, we all have a right in Jesus Christ to a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7 says “God did not give us a spirit that makes us afraid but a spirit of power and love and self-control” (NCV).
God uses this verse as a reminder to consider how to handle what I’m experiencing. It’s a verse that I can hold onto when things aren’t going well or when I feel like a failure. It reminds me that God isn’t done with me. I need to consider the countless things he’s done in my life since then.
It doesn’t matter what I or you have been through. We cannot let fear hold us back. Push yourself to trust God in everything you do. Then live in faith and love.
