God Is Aware, and Cares

In Psalm 103:13 I read, As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him." (NIV)

God is a caring, loving, and a compassionate Father. He loves me more than I could ever comprehend.

God is love, and he made me to love me. He is loving toward me in everything that he does; his compassion is one of his most outstanding qualities.

The Bible says in Psalm 103:13, “As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him” (NIV). He cares about everything in my life, compassionately.

Most of Jesus’s disciples were professional fishermen. One day while fishing, Jesus got tired and went to sleep inside the boat. When a storm came, it shouldn’t have bothered the disciples. As fishermen, they were used to storms. But this must have been a big one, because they got scared. The ship was rocking and rolling; water was coming into the boat. They were frantic and woke up Jesus to ask him one of the most important questions in life: “Lord, don’t you care?”

I tend to ask God that question a lot and in a thousand ways: “God, did you see that doctor’s report? Don’t you care? Do you see what a mess my marriage is in? Don’t you care? Do you see how my kids are struggling in school? Don’t you care? You know how fear grips my mind. Don’t you care?”

The answer is this: Yes, God cares. In fact, he cares more than I know. He wants to help more than I want help. He knows what will help me more than I know what will help me. He is aware, and he cares.

The Bible says, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7 NIV).

If I knew and felt how much my heavenly Father constantly and compassionately cares, I couldn’t help but love him back.

Take the first step toward inner peace today, and “cast all my anxietyon my compassionate heavenly Father.

In summary, as a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him. God is a caring, loving, and a compassionate Father. He loves me more than I could ever comprehend. God is love, and he made me to love me. He is loving toward me in everything that he does. He cares about everything in my life, During a storm Jesus’ disciples were frantic and woke up Jesus to ask him one of the most important questions in life: “Lord, don’t you care?” I tend to ask God that question a lot and in a thousand ways. The answer is yes, God cares. He cares more than I know. He wants to help more than I want help. He knows what will help me more than I know what will help me. He is aware, and he cares. So I need to take the first step toward inner peace today, and “cast all my anxietyon my compassionate heavenly Father.

God is like a father, tender and compassionate. While I can't "go fishing" with Him or be held physically, I can receive His love into my heart by means of his Holy Spirit. God can tenderly heal my deep loss. I may be fragile, but God's care is eternal. Too often I focus on God as Judge and Lawgiver, ignoring his compassion and concern for me. When God examines my life, he remembers my human condition. My weakness should never be used as a justification for sin. His mercy takes everything into account. God will deal with me compassionately. I need to trust him.

Father, thank you for Your Word and Jesus as my savior and example. You want me and I need you in my life. Please give me Your strength for today and remind me in little ways that I can always believe in, have faith in and can trust you in everything. This includes being the authority for my life, the source of my self-worth and my hope for the future. You have my best interests in mind. So I ask you to help me to embrace the way you’ve made me; my gifting and passions. Help me to serve and fulfill the mission you have in mind for me.

Today, I ask you for wisdom and guidance for my day, my work, my leadership, my interactions with others, doing well and making a difference in others lives. I pray all these things through your Son Jesus’ name, Amen.
