I’m Already Chosen and Loved

In Ephesians 1:4-5 I read, Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.” (NLT)

My salvation depends totally on God. I am not saved because I deserve it, but because God is gracious and freely gives salvation. I had nothing to do to influence him. He did so according to his plan. Because of Christ, I am holy and blameless in his sight. All I can do is express my thanks for his wonderful love.

Everyone wants above anything else: to be loved, to be accepted, and to be chosen. These longings are there even in people unwilling to admit it. But there’s good news: I don’t have to look anymore for love and acceptance. I’m already chosen, loved, and accepted by Jesus Christ.

Everyone wants to be chosen. Being chosen is key to establishing my self-worth. The Bible says in Ephesians 1:4-5, “Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure” (NLT).

God created the entire universe because he wanted a family. The whole reason the universe exists is because God wanted children to love. And according to these verses, God chose me before the world was made!

God made the universe. He wanted a place where I could live. Before God chose any tree, the oceans, or every rock that exists, he chose me.

That’s an amazing thought, that even before he chose to create the sun and moon and stars, God knew and chose to love me. That is the foundation of my identity.

I’m never last in God’s thoughts. I have always been first on his mind. He chose, loves, and he accepts me. I can rest in these truths today.

In summary, Even before he made the world, God loved and chose me in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. My salvation depends totally on God. I am not saved because I deserve it, but because God is gracious and freely gives it. He did so according to his plan. Because of Christ, I am holy and blameless in his sight. I don’t have to look anymore for love and acceptance. I’m already chosen, loved, and accepted by Jesus Christ. Being chosen is key to establishing my self-worth. Before he chose to create the sun and moon and stars, God knew and chose to love me. That is the foundation of my identity. I’m never last in God’s thoughts. I have always been first on his mind. He chose, loves, and he accepts me. I can rest in these truths today.

Because God chose me, he wants to do something in my life that only I can do. His way usually involves helping others. There are times when the enemy plants doubt in my mind about my worth using situations in my life and my lack of patience. These verses are a reminder that I am of worth and value to God. I should use them when the enemy tries to plant doubt in my mind. Being part of God’s family means I will have an inheritance in heaven forever. Father, I thank you for your words of encouragement today. I ask also for wisdom and guidance for my day, my work, my leadership and my interactions with others. I will trust you with the outcome of my future job role and seek to do what you want me to do. These things I pray through your Son Jesus’ name, amen.
