The Connection Between Purpose and Prayer

In review of Jeremiah 29:11-12 it says, For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. (NLT)

It's easy to be encouraged by a leader who stirs me to move ahead, someone who believes I can do the task given to me and who will be with me all the way. God is that kind of leader. He knows my future, and his plans for me are good and full of hope. As long as God, who knows the future, provides my agenda and goes with me as I fulfill his mission, I can have boundless hope. This doesn't mean that I will be spared pain, suffering, or hardship, but that God will see me through to a glorious conclusion.

God is good, so by nature, he cannot do bad things. Everything he does is good. And, because he is good, God’s plans for my life will always be good.

God didn’t have to create a plan for me. He could have just let me be born and wander around aimlessly. But God made me with a purpose. He gave me a plan for my life.

There is a connection between prayer and God’s plans for me. They are revealed and realized through prayer. The more I pray, the more I’m going to understand God’s plan. When I pray to him, he promises to listen, answer, and reveal more of himself.

In summary, God has and knows the plan for my life. It's a plan for good and not disaster. So I can be filled with hope for my future. When I pray, he will listen. It's easy to be encouraged by a leader who stirs me to move ahead, someone who believes I can do the task given to me and who will be with me all the way. God is that kind of leader. God is good and everything he does is good. And, because he is good, God’s plans for my life will always be good. God made me with a purpose. He gave me a plan for my life. There is a connection between prayer and God’s plans for me. They are revealed and realized through prayer. The more I pray, the more I’m going to understand God’s plan. When I pray, he promises to listen, answer, and reveal more of himself.

Today’s verses and devotions help to encourage me that even though I don’t know the future, God does. He has a plan for me. It is revealed and realized through prayer. The more I pray, the more I’ll understand. He does promise to listen and answer. This is especially helpful when I consider I only have some much time left in my current job. I pray this morning God, for wisdom and direction on my next steps for training and preparing. I put my trust in you to provide for me a new job role where I can serve and fulfill your mission for me. I also ask for wisdom and guidance for my day, my tasks, my leadership and my interactions with others. I pray these things through you Son Jesus’ name, Amen.
