On My Best Day and Worst Day, God Is with Me

In reivew of Psalm 34:18 it reminds me that, The LORD is near to those who are discouraged; he saves those who have lost all hope.” (GNT)

I often wish I could escape troubles, the pain of grief, loss, sorrow, and failure; or even the small daily frustrations that constantly wear me down. What I'm learning is that God promises to be "close to the brokenhearted," to be my source of power, courage, and wisdom, helping me through my problems. Sometime he chooses to deliver me from them. However, when trouble strikes, don't get frustrated with God, Rather admit that I need God's help and thank him for being by my side

Life is filled with unexpected circumstances. Some of these knock me flat on my back. They make it feel like the roof of my life has caved in. What do I do when my world collapses?

The first question most ask is, “Who cares?”

After Jesus was killed, his disciples met together but locked the doors because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders who had sent Jesus to the cross. The disciples felt like they were alone, and because of that, they were afraid and expected the worst.

But then something happened that changed everything: “Jesus came and stood among them and said, ‘Peace be with you!’ After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord” (John 20:19-20 NIV).

The difference was immediate. The presence of Christ turned their panic into a party, their fear into good cheer.

During every moment of my life, from the very best to the very worst, God is with me. He cares for me. I will never walk through something hard alone. In fact, God is never closer than when I’m in pain.

He tells me, “When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up—the flames will not consume you” (Isaiah 43:2 TLB).

Am I feeling hurt and asking “who cares about me?” I can rest more easily today knowing that God cares. He has never left me. He is with me now. He has been with me all along. I am not alone.

Believe that today, and experience the peace that Christ brings.

In summary, The Lord is near to those who are discouraged, he will save those who lose hope. While I wish I could escape trouble, failure and even the daily frustrations that wear me down, I find that God promises to be close, to be my source of power, courage, and wisdom, that will help me through what I"m experiencing. So when trouble and disappointment strike, don't get frustrated with God, rather admit that I need his help and than him for being by my side. Life will always be filled with unexpected circumstances. I just need to know that from the very best to the very worst, God is with me. I will never walk through something hard alone. I can rest easy knowing that God cares and is with me. I will never be alone. I need to believe and experience the peace that Christ brings.

Father, I thank you for the reminder that you are always there for me. I pray today that you will provide gentle reminders of this through your Spirit, especially when I start feeling alone and in despair. I ask you for your wisdom and guidance for my day and for my tasks, my work, my leadership and my interactions with others. I also pray for continued healing of my back and heel. These things I ask through your Son Jesus name, Amen.
