In Order To Know Your Purpose, Ask Your Creator

In review of Colossians 1:16 it says, “Everything, absolutely everything … got started in him and finds its purpose in him.”

Bottom Line:
Absolutely everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him.

What this means to me:
For through him God created everything in heaven and on earth, the seen and the unseen things. God created the whole universe through him and finds its purpose in him.

As I put my trust in Jesus Christ, the more I learn God’s purpose for my life.

It’s actually a sad notion to know that most really don’t know the purpose of their lives. Without really knowing your purpose, all you do is end up drifting through life.

What I’m learning is that there is only one way we can learn the purpose of our lives. This is through talking to our Creator.

Our culture tells us that we find our purpose when we look within. However, that really doesn’t work because we didn’t create ourselves. Only the Creator can tell me what purpose I was created for. The first part of knowing the purpose of a comes when you believe in Jesus Christ, because he is our Creator.

The Bible says, “Everything, absolutely everything … got started in him and finds its purpose in him” (Colossians 1:16 MSG).

I think the reason why some many are confused about their identity and purpose is because they are looking in all the wrong places. What I’m learning is that there is only one place to find your identity and purpose in life, and that’s through a relationship with our Creator, Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 1:11 tells us, “It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for …. part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone” (Message).

In summary, Absolutely everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him. For through him God created everything in heaven and on earth, the seen and the unseen things.
