The Bible Can Do The Impossible in Life

In review of James 1:18 it says, “He chose to give us birth through the word of truth.”

Bottom Line:
He brought us into being through the word of truth, so that we would have first place and be his own special people.

What this means to me:
God of his own will has chosen to give me life through his word of truth, so that I would be one of his own special people. As such, God uses his word to give me a fresh start each day. Today I recognize that without God’s Word, I could never have been saved. Without it I wouldn't be headed for Heaven. I wouldn't know about Jesus’ death on the cross. And I wouldn't know about God’s purpose for my life. In short, without the Bible, I wouldn't know God. I am grateful for its presence.

God offers a much better life. It all starts with his Word. Through his Word, God is able to recreate my live. Likewise, when I feel like I’m at the end of my rope or when everything is falling apart, God can use his Word to give me a fresh start, a do-over. In James 1:18 says, “He chose to give us birth through the word of truth” (NIV).

The Bible can be compared to a seed. Once it takes root in a heart, it begins to sprout and grow and bear fruit. As God’s Word does this, it can actually change a life for the better.

Jesus says this in John 6:63 about his Word: “The words I have spoken to you — they are full of the Spirit and life.” God’s Word isn't just words on a page. It’s spirit and life. It’s spiritual power. His Word can transform society and history. It can do the impossible. It can change a life!

D.L. Moody, a famous Chicago pastor from 100 years ago, said, “The Bible was not given to increase our knowledge; the Bible was given to change our lives.”

I try to use my time in his word each day to live the life he wants me to. It has truly changed my life.
